About
Jimmy Zhang is a documentary arts film maker and storyteller from San Francisco, California. His work draws from the idea that the personal is political; by bridging his experiences with diaspora, queerness and mental health.
Growing up in San Francisco's Chinatown, Mission District and Bayview District, his style of storytelling is methodical, personal and introspective. His work attempts to capture the intimacy of place--the sacred relationships between people, their environment and their sense of belonging.
Jimmy’s work has been featured at:
National Queer Arts Festival
United States of Asian America Arts Festival
Center for Asian American Media Festival (CAAM)
